Orbea and Shimano developed the motor in the Rise together so that when you pedal harder, the Rise instantly gives you more power, feeling like a natural boost.

One standout feature of the Rise is its battery life. Because the bike uses less power, is lighter, and relies more on the rider’s effort, the Rise lasts about 50% longer than most electric bikes. These aluminium models come with a larger 540Wh battery that has been specially designed for this bike.

Weight is another important factor for the Rise. Orbea put a lot of effort into making the frame, battery, and components as lightweight as possible. Thanks to smart design, the Rise handles more like a regular mountain bike, even though it's an electric one.

The aluminium version of the Rise is especially light, even for an e-bike. Orbea redesigned the 540Wh battery, making it lighter and more energy-efficient by carefully arranging the cells and optimizing the materials.

The frame is made with high-quality materials, using advanced manufacturing techniques similar to those used for carbon frames. This ensures the bike is strong where it needs to be and light where it can be.

Orbea also used a special polishing process on the aluminium frame to make the welds smooth and enhance the frame's strength, making it look almost like a carbon frame. This process also improves the bike’s durability.

As a result, the Rise Aluminium’s frame weighs just 3.4kg, which is only slightly heavier than the frame of a standard Orbea Occam mountain bike. The total weight of the bike is around 19kg for the top model and 20kg for the entry-level model, which is very light for an electric bike.

Battery and Electronics

For the aluminium version, Orbea has introduced a new 540Wh battery, making the bike more affordable while still offering excellent performance. This battery weighs just 2.7kg.

In Eco mode, the aluminium model can cover over 3,500 meters of elevation. In Trail mode, it handles 2,200 meters, and in Boost mode, about 1,600 meters. If more power is needed, you can add a 252Wh Range Extender, making the bike almost like a "super-light e-bike" with nearly 800Wh of total capacity.

Even though extra battery capacity can mean longer charging times, Orbea has developed a smart charger for the aluminium Rise. It automatically adjusts the charging speed for the main battery and Range Extender, so you can charge the 540Wh battery to 80% in just 3 hours. The Range Extender charges more slowly at 2A.
