Specialized Chisel Comp

Specialized Chisel Comp

The World's Lightest and Fastest Alloy Full Suspension Bike: At 18.4% lighter than its nearest competitor and built with the same geometry and kinematics as our World Cup-ready Epic 8 mountain bike, the all-new Chisel offers a performance that’s palpable—whether you’re racing “between the tape” or enjoying solo hot laps on local trails.

SPEED METAL: Utilizing D’Aluisio Smartweld technology, the Chisel features the lightest aluminum XC frameset in its category. Each precisely engineered frame tube showcases varying wall thicknesses and shapes that provide stiffness where it matters for efficiency and a smooth ride for comfort and control.

UNMATCHED CAPABILITY: With 110mm of Ride Dynamics-tuned suspension, the Chisel inherits its high-performance lineage directly from the Epic 8, our World Cup race machine. The advanced suspension kinematics, Ride Dynamics-tuned features, and progressive geometry from the Epic 8—refined on challenging World Cup courses—ensure that the Chisel can confidently tackle diverse terrains at speed.

EXCEPTIONAL EFFICIENCY: The Chisel stands out as the most efficient pedaling bike in its class, thanks to the geometry and kinematics derived from our World Cup racing Epic 8 platform. The steep seat tube angles the rider for optimal pedaling efficiency, while enhanced anti-squat minimizes pedal-bob. Together, these elements ensure that every watt exerted on the pedals translates into maximum forward motion.

SMOOTHER IS FASTER: We designed a flex-stay rear end for superior suspension performance while minimizing the weight and maintenance complexities associated with traditional pivot designs. More typical of carbon bikes, extensive field and lab testing has demonstrated that the Chisel achieves the remarkable—combining the efficiency, control, and lightweight nature of a flex-stay design with advanced alloy construction.

HYDROFORMED ALLOY: The Chisel eliminates excess material and weight with a unified hydroformed seat tube that integrates the seat tube pivot, main pivot, and bottom bracket shell. In contrast, traditional bikes often feature a seat tube that merely serves as a “tube,” with welded-on pivots and bottom bracket shell.
